Hmmm, I Think I'm Still Around

Well, I hate to ruin Garnigal's chances of winning, but I am posting before January 2008.

One would expect that after such a long time between posts, I'd have something exciting, important or new to post.

Well, I do.

First off, Zelia and I are engaged. The date is at the end of August, 2008. And that's all I'm going to say about that for now.

My work has decreed that I'm no longer allowed to bring my laptop. This is a long, complicated story (at least in my mind) so I won't go into detail. Basically it's a new property manager flexing his muscles. This has given my lots of time to catch up on my reading. On Zelia's advice, I have read the first several books in the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series. Excellent reading! Now I have to wait until Zelia is finished with the book she's reading before I can continue with mine. I'm now reading a John Ringo series - military sci-fi. Almost finished the first book in a series and I'm really enjoying this one too! So yeah, the books make my 12 hour shifts at work kinda nice.

I Am Still Here

For those who read this blog, I'm still here.

I don't appologize for a lack of posts simply because I never promised regular posts. Ha, in your face, wrench! (ague Red Vs. Blue reference there for ya)

So, this is just to let people know I'm still here and might, just might, post soon.

RAM For All!

Zelia has, for the past week, been looking for the RAM that fits her laptop. Finally, after much searching, she found some through Canada Computers (a most awesome store). However, they only had 3 sticks in stock and it was in North York (an hour and a half away from us). So I called them, found they wouldn't be able to ship it to a store closer, so I had them put a stick on hold for Saturday.

So today we left first thing in the morning so that we could be there right when they opened at 10 am. We get there about 10 minutes early, so we waited around. As soon as they opened, we went in, tracked down a sales person and told them we had a stick of laptop RAM on hold for us. The guy went to the drawer and couldn't find it. At all. No where to be found.

Zelia and I became concerned. Driving an hour and a half to get there and they can't find it? The guy runs around, asking other people and searching and finally, after about 10 minutes, he finds it. We pay for it and head out. Zelia wants to perform emergency surgery to install the RAM, but we don't have any screwdrivers. So, off to Canadian Tire where we pick up a nice compact screwdriver. On the way home, Zelia installs the RAM and everything works fine.

And when Zelia is happy, I'm safe. ;)

NaNo and Sentry Guns

Zelia and I had a little get-together with two other NaNoites in the area for some group writing. It went very well. I got almost 1500 words down and Zelia got her story all planned out. I felt so yuppyish - working on a laptop in a coffeehouse. I'm so...cosmopolitan?

Found this kick-ass item that I must have! It's from South Korea, so I don't know what it says, and some of the music made me thing it was a joke, but still damn cool. I would need, like, 10 of these.

I've Been Scared by These

I have actually played some of these scary games. Yes, I was scared.

Very, very scared.

Time's Getting Short

Well, for those of you who have either read my blog last year about this time you may remember that NaNoWriMo is almost apon us *shudder*.

I will be attempting this amazing feat again, but not by myself. I have gotten Zelia involved (or at least interested). This should be a boon, as now we can challenge each other to get writing. For those who know not of what I speak, I invite you to visit www.nanowrimo.org and check it out. If you are feeling very adventurous, I invite you join the multitudes of others for a month of fun and chaos.

Zelia has a story idea for this, which is very, very good. It's hard to write a novel without one. I'm sure she'll do amazing. I, on the other hand, don't have one. I have several partial ideas in my head, but I'm having trouble picking one. If I don't pick one, my novel is going to be very...interesting.

Speaking of novels, came across this today. I agree with the blogger. Read the blog and I'm sure you'll agree too.

And the Rest of Space Goes To...

Found this little article. Not sure if it's real or not, but if it is, it doesn't surprise me in the least.

Is there anything they don't want?
