Mushy Minds Make for Bad Posting

All of last week I was doing 12 hour shift (due to the fact that I'm the only one here for now) and that amount of mental draining left me very little in the way of brain power. The pretty colours and patterns on the screen intrigued me and kept coherent thoughts away.

Today, my brain kicked in, so to speak, and I'm posting. Better do this now as I'm doing 12 hour shifts all this week too.

First off, there are so many movies I want to see. V for Vendetta, Silent Hill, Dark Watch, X-3, Spiderman 3, The Hills Have Eyes, just to name a few. I also found out that A Scanner Darkly has been pushed back to July, so I'm very glad I haven't missed it yet. If there are any movies I should see, please, post them in the comments and I'll do my best to continue my character class of Movie Whore.

Second, that's it. Doing 12 hour shifts leaves very little time to do anything non-work related, especially if I want to sleep. So my life has been pretty boring.

Just to keep this post going, I'm going to now share a sandwich recipe that Zelia and I love. Since I'm the cook, I know how to make it. I now share this sandwich with you:

The Cuban (this will be for just one sandwich - I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how to make more than one)

One Portuguese bun (or similar kind), sliced in half
Slices of ham
Slices of roast pork
Sandwich-sliced dill pickles
Slice of Swiss cheese
Mustard

-Layer ham and roast pork and pickles on the bun. (I usually layer this way: ham, pork, pickles, ham, pork)
-Top with cheese and mustard.
-Grill sandwich until cheese is melted and the sandwich is heated through. If you don't have an electric grill, you can "grill" in a frying pan and press the sandwich down with another pan. Just as long as you press the sandwich together. If grilling in a frying pan, you'll likely have to flip the sandwich over to heat the top.
-Slice in half and serve immediately.

Usually, I'll go the local deli (or grocery deli) and get the cuts of meat and cheese there, but pre-packaged meat and cheese would work just as well.

Ok, I'm done now.

Them's is Good Eats

Last Friday, Zelia and I went out for dinner and a movie. It was lots of fun. We saw Firewall, the new Harrison Ford flick. It was very enjoyable. I'm not going to go into details mostly because I'm too tired to do that.

However, I will tell you a little about the place we ate at. I decided to try to find a new place to go, and after doing some looking on the internet I made my choice.

The Babel Fish Bistro.

For those Douglas Adams fans, you may recognize the name. For those who don't, I'll just say you should be reading A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. You'll understand. And yes, the yellow fish is there.

It was a bit pricey, but was well worth it when we got our food. It was incredible! I had the Mahi Mahi with Mango Papaya Salsa on a bed of rice with grilled veggies. Unbelievable! Amazing! One of the tastiest things I have every had.

Zelia had Chicken with a....arg! I can't remember. I had a taste and it was amazing too. She was very impressed with both the food and atmosphere. It was a cozy little place - candles, soft music..you know. A bistro.

We both want to go back there again. If I could, I'd eat there every day.

I wonder if they have delivery.

Blogging for the Hell of It

Right now, I'm at work, drinking green tea and wanting to write stuff in my blog. I don't have anything meaningful to say, so I'll be writing about whatever.

First off, saw the first trailer for X-Men 3. Um, wow. Does it ever look good. Actually, it looks great! You can check it out at www.apple.com. Probably other places too, but I go to Apple. They have lots of great trailers.

Second, I'm still in the funk, but not as bad. I think the green tea has something to do with that. Yummy green tea.

Third, I'm seriously thinking about wiping my laptop clean and reinstalling what I need. But I have so much stuff I want to keep, which means I have so much stuff to back up. Perhaps soon I shall do that. Yes, I shall be doing that soon.

I keep getting the occasional comment, so that means that people actually read this. That means I have a semi-responsibility of keeping this somewhat updated. I think that's why I feel like I should write something here. Aren't you all just so lucky?

This green tea is really tasty.

Because you're all just dying to hear about how my new mouse is working, I'll tell you. It's working great. I really do like it. I would love it, but I've been told loving electronic items is weird. And in some places, illegal.

Indifference...

Today, I am totally in a funk.

Don't know why. Everything is blah. Wish I knew what was causing it, because then I'd have it shot.

Nothing new to say.

Meh.

MMOG Goodness

I came across this in my travels.

I want to play so badly! So very badly.

That is all.
