Opportunity Knocks

I'm a little nervous right now, as I will be inquiring/applying for a new job in about 30 minutes.

At my work, the building is looking for a new night operator (fancy phrase for a guy who works nights) and I've been told by a couple that I should apply.

This is a big step, as I'll be completely free of the security business and into a slightly mechanical job. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I've been told that, should I get the job, I'll have very little mechanical work to do. I would be an "observe and report" person, which is what I've been doing for the last several years. So at least I can do that...

As I have been discussing this with Zelia, I have some other pros: I live locally, I already am familiar with the building, the employees, and a lot of the proceedures. It seems that this would be an excellent opportunity for me. Also, I'll be getting paid just under double what I'm being paid now.

So, that's it. In a few weeks, I may be the newest employee at my work. That sounds odd, but it's totally true.
