Bus Weirdos

As much as I am glad that I have access to public transit, I have begun dreading riding the bus in the morning.

When I first started taking the bus so many months ago, I was left alone. I think it was because of my security uniform, but it doesn't really matter. When I get on the bus in the morning, I'm not much for idle chit-chat. So the fact that I always had the double seat to myself was great.

Then a few months ago, a new building was being built on a lot next to my work. Eventually, it was completed and a few new faces appeared on the morning bus ride. Still, I was left alone. Yay.

Then, one of the new faces decided to sit with me, since we were work neighbours, I'm sure. Fortunatley, he didn't really talk, so I was fine.

Then a new guy appeared, a semi-retired gentleman, and he is a talker. And a mumbler. And talks about stuff I don't care about. Usually, the first guy sits with me so Talker doesn't.

This morning, Talker sat next to me and jabbered constantly. However, I'm just too polite to tell him to leave me the hell alone. No, I just sit there and occasionally talk back. I hope this isn't the begining of an unwanted bus relationship.

The moral of the story: If you're going to talk to me on the bus, don't. I just don't care enough at that time in the morning.

The Words, They Flow

It's been one day since the 2005 Nanowrimo kick-off and I'm doing well.

Yesterday, I wrote almost 4000 words for my novel. And I tell ya, it was hard not to go back and edit. But I'm being strong and just writing. Zelia read some of it and she said it's pretty good. Maybe that's true. She's also going to keep me writing and not editing.

I must admit, I feel pretty confident. This story seems to be writing itself, at least for now. I'll be continuing on it soon, but it's just a bit too early to be thinking about that. Besides, today I got up about 20 minutes before bus arrived. Damn, I've never gotten ready for work that fast before. I'm sure I must broken some kind of record. And I even fed the cats, too.
